Experience with local authorities and housing associations has highlighted the importance of giving back to the community, especially those recently thrown into poverty thanks to the pandemic.

With the UK carbon zero target of 2050 rapidly approaching and being conscious to the fact that there is a significant labour shortage within the industry, we have developed a business model that will give back so the community Both in reduced carbon emissions and employment to each local authority.
How does it work?
We give guidance and advice to assist in the application and development of grant funded projects for social housing and local authorities.
Funded Training schemes are launched with local skills academies within the region and funding is accessed for applicants/residents who reside within the region.
As the students work through their course, they get the opportunity to experience hands-on assessment experience within the local authority’s properties.
The students use selected properties to complete their assessment portfolios.
Once qualified, we commit to employ the newly qualified Retrofit assessors to assess the allocated housing stock and broaden their assessment experience.
Continuous personal development is encouraged through hand on mentoring by our experienced assessors along with site visits to experience actual energy saving installation taking place, joining our retrofit coordinators on ‘toolbox talks’.
Candidates wishing to develop their career further can then access funding for retrofit coordinator training, all this whilst earning and learning.
How do the candidates get paid?
Decarbonization projects come with an administration grant, this fund is utilised for the data collection, administration and coordination of each project and as such can also be used to subsidise the educational development and field experience of their own local residents. A win win on all sides.
